Letter 4

In the ice, Walton's crew see a sledge drawn by dogs and driven by a huge figure, and the next day they rescue a half-frozen stranger from another sledge. Once he is stronger, the stranger tells Walton he is on a chase. Walton finds a friend in him, and the stranger promises to tell him his story, which Walton will write down.
