Volume 1, Chapter 4

On a dreary November night, Victor succeeds in bringing his creature to life. As soon as he sees it open its yellow eye, he is filled with horror and runs out of the room. When he returns, it has gone. His friend Clerval arrives, and Victor falls into a long fever.
