Book 3: Telemachus at Pylos

Telemachus and Athena arrive at Pylos during a feast. Old King Nestor welcomes them and tells of the Greeks' return from Troy, including the murder of Agamemnon, but he cannot say where Odysseus is.

Athena leaves in the shape of a bird. Nestor sends Telemachus on to Sparta with his son Peisistratus to ask Menelaus.
