Telemachus and Ulysses Remove the Armour—Ulysses Interviews Penelope—Euryclea Washes his Feet and Recognises the Scar on his Leg—Penelope Tells her Dream to Ulysses.

That night Odysseus and Telemachus remove the weapons from the hall. Penelope questions the beggar, who says he once entertained Odysseus in Crete. She tells him a dream.

The old nurse Eurycleia washes the beggar's feet and recognises a scar on his leg. Odysseus makes her promise to say nothing. Penelope announces that she will hold a contest with Odysseus's bow.
