Chapter 15: The Man of the Island

In the woods Jim sees a strange figure leaping from tree to tree and later learns that he is Ben Gunn, a man who was marooned there three years ago. Ben is half-wild and longs for cheese. He says he will help Jim and his friends if they take him home, and he claims to have a secret. A cannon shot is heard, and Jim runs towards the sound.
