Book 16: Patroclus in the armour of Achilles

Patroclus begs Achilles to let him fight, and Achilles lends him his armour, but warns him to turn back once the ships are safe. Patroclus drives the Trojans away and kills Sarpedon. He then goes too far, and Apollo, Euphorbus and Hector strike him down.
